Mission & Vision

MISSION: Threshold is a diverseeducational community organization that promotes personal health, growth, development and potential for lifetime achievement to people ages 12 to 25.  Services and programs are delivered in a culturally competent manner. 

VISION: Threshold will be the premier agency in the Rochester area providing comprehensive services to adolescents and young adults regardless of their individual resources.

Threshold will accomplish this by:

• Delivering innovative services that fill individual and community needs in an environment that is culturally diverse, nurturing, energizing, supportive, hopeful and joyful.
• Being mindful of our responsibility as stewards of public and private funds, we will exceed measurable goals and best practices standards in health care, education, substance abuse prevention, family support and other services that we implement to meet the needs of the target population.
• Developing and promoting opportunities for our clients to establish positive values and lifestyles stressing the value of life, family and community and the importance of intellectual and financial independence, while emphasizing our mutual dependence and the importance of caring for one another.
• Looking for new and innovative ways to work with people who share our mission; be they Threshold staff, board members, funders, community leaders, colleagues in other agencies.
