PREVENTION SERVICES
- Prevention Program served 2419 Monroe County residents in 2008
- 164 assessments (assessments look at the life history of the client to determine their needs). 63% of these clients were admitted for counseling.
- 105 students completed our school-based programming at Jefferson HS. Students participated in the Reconnecting Youth and Project ALERT programs. Some of the protective factors that were addressed were academic achievement and attendance, decreased substance use and increased knowledge of consequences of drug and alcohol use.
- 200 presentations and workshops in the community (including Pretrial). Presentations are at least 45 minutes. There were a total of 2049 participants present at the presentations and workshops.
- There were 47 interventions (these are emergency on the spot services for callers or walk-ins)- services include, referrals for treatment, mental health, shelter, and food).
- There were 54 participants in our Lifeskills and Youth Enrichment Series (YES) summer program.
LEARNING CENTER/JOB READINESS
- 16 students were employed in subsidized employment (6/09-8/09)
- 5 of those students transitioned into unsubsidized employment
- 3 earned their GED while working
- 65% GED passing rate – 26 students took their GED test, 17 passed
- 35 students received OSHA-10 credential (2-day 5 hour training_
- 91% showed an increase in Educational Functional Level
